Your data, in plain language

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Urgnt collects, why we need it, when another user can see it, and how you can ask us to delete it.

Effective 19 July 2026

Urgnt does not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. Your phone number is shared with another user only when the product needs it—for example, when you choose to apply or call, or when an employer publishes a contact number on a job pin.

1. Who we are and what this covers

Urgnt is a map-first local hiring service operated from India and available globally. It connects job seekers with nearby employers. This policy covers the Urgnt app, website and related support.

Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@urgnt.in.

2. What we collect

Account details

  • Your phone number, which we use with a one-time password (OTP) to sign you in.
  • Your name, if you choose to add it.
  • Your selected role: job seeker or employer.

Location

With your device permission, we collect precise location while you are using the map so we can show nearby jobs, businesses, applicants and distances. Urgnt does not collect location in the background.

Jobs, businesses and applications

  • Job posts and business details supplied by employers, including the business address and map pin.
  • Optional business photos and videos uploaded by an employer.
  • Applications and actions such as applying for or calling about a job.
  • An optional voice introduction of up to 30 seconds and optional photos attached by a job seeker to an application.

Device and usage information

  • A device push token used to send notifications.
  • Product-usage events such as searches, taps and applications, used to understand and improve the product.

Messages to us

If you contact us, we receive the information you include so we can respond and resolve the issue.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure your account and deliver OTPs;
  • show relevant jobs, businesses and applicants on the map;
  • let seekers call or apply and let employers post jobs and review applicants;
  • calculate and show distance where the product calls for it;
  • deliver account, application and job notifications;
  • provide support, keep Urgnt safe and prevent misuse; and
  • analyse searches, taps and applications to improve Urgnt.

4. Who receives information

Other Urgnt users, when you choose to connect

Sharing is part of how Urgnt works:

  • When a seeker applies or calls, the employer can see the seeker’s name, phone number, distance, and any voice introduction or photos attached to that application.
  • An employer’s contact phone number is shown on that employer’s job pins so seekers can call.
  • Phone numbers are otherwise not public.

Once you share information directly with another user, that person may keep a copy outside Urgnt. Use care when contacting people you do not know.

Service providers

We use Google Maps for map display, Google Firebase for push notifications, and an SMS gateway for OTP delivery. These providers process the information needed to perform those functions for us. Their own terms and privacy policies also apply to their services.

Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if applicable law or a valid legal process requires it, or where necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, or protect the service.

We do not sell personal data. Urgnt has no advertising SDKs and does not use data for cross-app tracking.

5. Your location choices

You can allow or deny location access through your device settings. Precise location is used only while you use the map, never in the background. If you turn location access off, nearby and distance-based features may not work correctly, but you can still use parts of the service that do not need your current location.

6. Storage and security

Urgnt uses servers in India. During the pilot, the database is hosted in Singapore. Because Urgnt is globally available and uses the providers named above, information may be processed outside the country where you live.

We use TLS encryption to protect data in transit. No online service can promise absolute security, so protect your phone and OTP and tell us if you suspect unauthorised account access.

7. How long we keep information

We keep account data until you request account deletion. We keep job posts, business details, application content and media while needed for the account and service, then delete or de-identify them when the account-deletion request is completed, unless applicable law requires limited information to be kept.

Product-analytics events may be retained indefinitely in aggregate form. Aggregate data does not identify an individual account.

8. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you may ask us to access, correct or delete personal data connected to your account. Depending on local law, you may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, receive a portable copy, or complain to a data-protection authority. We will verify requests and respond as required by applicable law.

Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and other regions with similar laws can exercise these rights by emailing us. Urgnt does not claim to have an EU representative.

For deletion steps, see Account & Data Deletion. Requests are fulfilled within 30 days after verification.

9. Age requirement

Urgnt is an employment service for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. It is not intended for children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Urgnt changes or legal requirements develop. We will publish the revised policy here and change its effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide an appropriate notice in the service.
